Caring For Mom Herself

IT’S HARDER THESE DAYS TO BE A STAY-AT-HOME MOM

The SUBURBAN CEO says, “This site is for every woman who wants to stay at home with her children but has had to reluctantly admit that she often feels frazzled, overwhelmed and not totally fulfilled. This site will help you identify the five missing pieces from modern life as an at-home mom and become CEO of your own life.”

MOM’S VIEW

MOM’S VIEW says it’s the “home of the most supportive community of moms on Planet Earth.” And not only that, but “the most frugal moms on the net.” And it is a remarkably good site. Its message board puts moms in touch with others with the same problems. The site has gathered an outstanding group of coupons and other savings, links, and helps of all kinds. This one is top notch!

THE 20-MINUTE POWER NAP

It seems there’s been a lot of study on this – and, of course, the nap doesn’t need to be exactly 20 minutes. The 20-minute power nap is used “to supplement normal sleep, especially when the sleeper has accumulated a sleep deficit.” Now who could that be, I wonder? The ABOUT people have their usual excellent article on the subject:

And, if you scroll down the page, you’ll also find much good information on dealing with stress.

SLACKER MOM

A former Type A Perfect Mom tells why and how she relaxed. “Basically, I don’t sweat the small stuff. I’ve cut myself some slack and realized that good enough is good enough. I have a life outside of my kids and I’m a better mom because of it.” Read more:
