     ANSWERS.COM gets bigger every week! Started out with dictionaries and thesauri. Now they’ve got, among other things, philosophy, antonym, and history dictionaries. Plus ANSWERS.COM HAS MORE KINDS OF ENCYCLOPEDIA THAN ANY OTHER SITE I KNOW: archaeology, education, intelligence and security, Mideast and North Africa, Russian history, U.S. foreign policy, U.S. history, Columbia, and the concise Britannica. I’ve no doubt missed a few. I once hit the wrong button and got a direct link to ANSWERS.COM on my desktop. I didn’t want it, but you may.

CONCISE AND COMPLETE BRITANNICA

     BRITANNICA CONCISE is “a complete, 28,000 article, single-volume encyclopedia from the editors of Encyclopedia Britannica.” You can read it online.

     BARTLEBY is another reference super-site. If you are a writer or an English major, this is the place to come. It has several books of quotations, books on style and usage, thesari, and “The New Dictionary of Cultural Literacy.” Among much else.
