Absolute Best Comic Strip
I have to admit that, when Bill Watterson started the comic strip in 1985, he was good – but not great. I say that based on the number of times I laughed at the early strips, which wasn’t that often. I merely smiled here and there. It wasn’t until he was midway through his brief career that the laugh-o-meter began to go up, as he hit more of the problems of humanity right square on the nose. Which is why the sample strip below comes from fairly late in his career. (They’re all online though.) http://www.marcellosendos.ch/comics/ch/1991/09/199109.html RHYMES WITH ORANGE If your newspaper doesn’t carry this delightful comic strip, you are now in luck. Here’s the Mother Lode: http://www.rhymeswithorange.com/ I always did wonder at the title, but the site clears it up: RHYMES WITH ORANGE means “fresh and pulpy.” You can get her newsletter, when she gets around to writing one, and send e-cards and such. It’s all semi-low-tech, as is the author. EVER SHARED A BED WITH A CAT? If you have, you know that one small cat requires a whole big bed, leaving only six inches on the far edge for you. RHYMES WITH ORANGE has graphed it out beautifully here: http://www.rhymeswithorange.com/arch/990919.gif TENSION ENTERS THE KENT HOUSEHOLD It happens, no matter how super we are. http://www.rivkashome.com/larson_kent.JPG |
