EDUCATION, HOMESCHOOL
When I was little, I dreamed of being let loose overnight in the dime store, getting to play with and keep for free anything in there. Well, YOU get to play with and keep for free any of the items below. I’ve had a perfectly lovely time playing with them and hope you do too. This “1000 Best Sites” archive specializes in free online resources – and I’m far from the first to come up with a list especially for homeschoolers. In the Resources For Parents/Teachers section below, I’ve reviewed a number of the best lists for homeschoolers. Plus, in the main Internet Resources section of this 1000 Best archive, you’ll find an excellent listing of in-depth reference materials, ideal for helping your gifted child do beginning or advanced research projects. (And I’m learning that MOST homeschooled children are gifted, because this type of teaching enhances their strong points.) You’ll find good educational material in several other main sections of this 1000 Best directory. Do try the Art & Photography and Music main sections. Also, under Books And Free EBooks, you’ll find the entire 70-volume edition of Harvard Classics, plus other collections of classics. All of course for free. And, just to start things off, listen to a delightful takeoff on homeschooling by going to TIM HAWKINS’ site and clicking on “A Homeschool Family”:
