Spicy Food Gift Ideas
HEY, GARLIC HEAD! “A tasty, tangy, garlicky BBQ sauce.” One of GARLIC HEAD’s happy customers likes to eat the sauce plain, from a spoon. It’s that good. I spoon it over cottage cheese, but that’s just me. It’s marvellous on meat, good in egg salad sandwiches, in bean dip, eaten straight from a spoon, WHATEVER. My grandmother, an excellent cook from Nebraska, would have made this kind of mustard if she’d made mustard, which she didn’t. For one thing, a lot of them are based on figs. Hard to imagine? Think of Kadota figs with a bonfire lit beneath, and you’re in the general territory, but JD has other subtle things going on as well. As I say, there’s REALLY nothing else like them. If you know someone who brags about the amount of heat they like, are maybe pushing the envelope a bit, give them a nice selection of SOUTH PHILLY HA-HA HOT SAUCES. T-BOY’S GENUINE CAJUN SEASONINGS T-BOY is the real thing, with a Louisiana meat market in which he seasons roasts, cut-up fryers, beef, and pork with his “special T-Boy’s seasoning recipe.” He said “people were going crazy over the seasoned meat!!! I would run out of it almost every day. The customers would come in and let me know what they thought of the package of meat they cooked the night before. It may have been too hot, not seasoned enough, too much garlic, not enough onions . . . so I would adjust my recipe to accommodate them. My boudin [Cajun sausage] was getting very popular. People were coming from surrounding towns just to get T-Boy’s boudin.
